Card Details
The OpenSky® Launch Secured Visa® is a secured-credit card aimed at people with no or poor credit history who want to begin building or rebuilding credit with minimal upfront cost. You can open an account with a refundable deposit starting at $100 (up to $1,000), and OpenSky reports your activity monthly to the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion), giving you a chance to build on-time payment history and responsible credit use.
Using the card is like using a standard Visa: make regular purchases, then pay on time (ideally in full) to avoid interest. If you maintain at least six consecutive on-time payments, OpenSky may review you for a credit-line increase — possibly without requiring an additional deposit — and may eventually invite you to graduate to the unsecured OpenSky Gold Visa®.
What you give up: instead of a $0-fee card, Launch comes with a modest monthly fee, and reward earnings (if any) are only “offer-based” — you won’t get a flat, consistent cashback rate like many unsecured cards.

Pros
Very low barrier to entry — you can start with just $100.
No credit check to apply — good for people with no or poor credit.
Monthly reporting to all three major credit bureaus — great for building or rebuilding credit history.
Potential credit-line increase or upgrade to unsecured card after responsible use.
Useful tools included — e.g., free FICO® score access, mobile app, autopay.

Cons
Monthly fee (effectively ~$24–$36/yr) — more expensive than some secured cards with no annual fee.
High interest rate (28.99% variable) — carrying a balance will be very costly.
No simple flat-rate rewards — cashback comes only via limited merchant-specific offers.
3% foreign transaction fee — not ideal if you travel or spend internationally.
Cash advances are expensive and limited — costly fees + interest accrues immediately, and advance capped at 50% of your limit.
